Aphex Twin - Trancy hypnotic techno and sounds, some of it is great for relaxing and meditation, some of it sounds like Satan tormenting you.

Apoptygma Berzerk - Synth Pop Techno

Bjork - My favorite, beautiful flowing, some bouncy and great to dance to, some slow and romantic, all around she's incredible.

The Cure - Considered one of the first "goth" bands by some, music ranges from poppy and happy to melancholy. You may have seen the lead singer, Robert Smith on South Park.

Delerium - Ethereal and very spiritual sounding with a light dance beat on most songs, one of my favorites.

Diamanda Galas - She's an amazing intense blend of opera, jazz, blues, she sings (and screeches) while playing piano.

Enigma - Ethereal techno mixed with Gregorian chants.

Funker Vogt - Synth Pop Industrial

KMFDM / MDFMK - One of the pioneering "industrial" bands, now called MDFMK and not that great anymore, the old cds are worth hearing.

Love is Colder Than Death - Another favorite, dark, ethereal with a light beat.

Ministry - Industrial legends

Rasputina - A favorite, 3 female cellists, their music is a mix of Goth, classical, Victorian, medical, and just weirdness.

Voltaire - this freak I know from NYC, music ranges from gypsy-pirate sounding to new wave with violin, & cello.

VNV Nation - Synthpop

Wolfsheim - A current industrial/darkwave band.
