Haunted houses, hay rides and other Halloween events

New York's Village Halloween Parade - Held hearly on Halloween Eve, goes up 6th Avenue Starting at Spring Street, ending at 23rd Street. I advise getting there many hours before 7pm if you want to either be in it or watch it (not to mention park if you are driving in). See the site for more details.

The Green House of Fear - Seasonal haunted house in North NJ. Located off exit 172 of the Garden State Parkway, DePieros Farm is located on the right hand side of Grand Avenue, in Montvale, New Jersey.

The Jersey Devil's Haunted Woods - Open Fri & Sat nights in Oct around 7-11pm. $12, there's usually a discount coupon on the website to print out. Located in Williamstown, NJ, one mile south of the Black Horse Pike (at Geet's Diner intersection) on Clayton Road just past the Williamstown Middle School. I think this is more south Jersey, near Philly.

River's Edge Hayride - In Cinnaminson, N.J. just 2 miles from The Tacony Palmyra Bridge. Open during Oct, prices range from $4 to $10 depending if you do the Hayride or the Mortuary and if it's a weekend or weekday.

Schaefer farms - 1051 County Rt 523, Flemington, NJ, 908-782-2705. Off season I don't see anything on their site, but I am pretty sure they have a corn maize around Sept-Oct. They also have hayrides & pick your own pumpkins.

A New Orleans Halloween - from about.com info and online tour of cemeteries, ghosts, and the spooky stuff around town, which there is no lack of in NOLA.
