I sent away for this, while on my dark fairy tale kick, I loved it and I want more, definitely read it if you're into Burton, Gorey, Poe, etc.

Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister by Gregory Maguire. Cinderella as told by one of the step sisters. Good read.

Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. The Wizard of Oz from the Wicked Witch's view. Most of this book is great, sometimes it drags on a little, the ending is somewhat of a let down, after all that good character development it just ends.

Was by Geoff Ryman. This book's description sounds wonderful but I found it terribly boring, dragging on with useless details. It is supposed to combine fiction and real histories of actors from The Wizard of Oz, so maybe it's historical stuff I find boring? If you skip over most of it and only read the parts about Dorothy's life it's a little interesting, I just could not read the other chapters.

Faery Magic edited by Mary Jo Putney. Contains 4 stories of fairy tales with a romantic adult twist. Decent stories, not too detailed in the sex area.
